EXCLUSIVE : This X Factor Australia star is unstoppable

16 and Unstoppable is also the name of the Castle Hill singer’s highly anticipated debut EP, which is due for release any day now.
It has certainly been a hectic year for Parie, also one fraught with some difficult choices.
Since placing sixth in Australian music reality TV show The X Factor, we can reveal Parie has chosen to leave school to concentrate on her music career.
She would have been in year 11.
“It was a big decision to leave school,” the former Mount St Benedict College student said.
She said hers was a family that considered finishing school was important, but in the end it boiled down to a single point: school would always be there, should she choose to go back, but the music opportunities that had arisen from her time on The X Factor may not.
A year ago she’d never dreamed of flying to Los Angeles to shoot a music video over four days, which is exactly what she did for the first single.
“We shot it out on the streets of north and west Hollywood about two weeks ago,” she said.
Parie also joined the show’s winner Reece Mastin on tour.
She said it overwhelmed her to think she could go interstate and still get so much support.
When not living out of her suitcase, Parie has been busy in the studio writing with Jess Origliasso from The Veronicas and Short Stack frontman Shaun Diviney.
“Writing with people I found very intimidating at the beginning, but it was very easy to work with Shaun, and that’s given me confidence,” Parie said.
She said her time with Losing Sight, the five-piece band she used to front, seemed long ago.
But what hasn’t changed is her desire to make money from singing.
“I never really thought about doing anything else,” Christina said.
‘‘Growing up I loved Avril Lavigne. I used to dress like Avril, I adored her.
‘‘I think we have a similar singing style, the whole pop rock thing. It would be awesome to meet her.’’
You never know.
Lavigne currently lives in Bel-Air in the Los Angeles area and Christina has already pencilled in more writing in LA on her to-do-list.
She’d like to write in New York too, but first she’ll start her promotional tour for the new EP, 16 and Unstoppable.
Yes, it seems she is.
